[ Birds can be super cool. Especially white ravens, those are unique; Jayce has never seen one before. He's been around other birds, however (or rather bird-famliars), and can tell that the preening is a good sign. It makes him smile further.

Hello to you too. Your white feathers are very pretty. [ Veeeery slowly lifts up a gloved hand toward the bird, and if Cloud allows it, Jayce will gently run his fingers over the raven's back. ] Are you hungry? Or did you just like the shiny metals in the forge?

Cloud gives an angry bird hop/stomp (walks under Jayce's hand and lets him just kind of...rest his hand on his back real quick to show he's not about to be a bastard) before he hops around over Jayce's tables, looking for his relic. Scratches around and moves different things until he unearths it, then shoves it toward Jayce with his beak. Open this! Bring up that fancy holographic keyboard thingy.]
[ Jayce still thinks the white raven is just that—a very pretty white raven, not a familiar, so he can't help with the lack of voice. A feisty and excitable one. Maybe it's hungry? He is thinking about offering the bird his sandwich, then wonders if sandwiches are healthy for ravens at all. He really has no idea; he's more familiar with cats and lizards than birds.
The angry stopping is enough to get his attention back on track, and he smiles at the blink-an-you-miss-it back petting he managed to give his new visitor. He's a bit more confused at the pantomime that follows, but it dawns on him that the birds want to play with his relic for some reason. ]
Oh! All right, let me just... [ He has no idea what he's doing, but there, the relic is open, and he hits the 'new post' button so there's a blank document visible, then turns the relic toward the bird. Alas, he hasn't activated the holographic keyboard yet, because how the hell is he going to figure out that's what Cloud wants? He will have to tap on the normal keyboard keys for now. ]
[It takes an embarrassing amount of time for him to do so, but eventually Cloud manages to type the following message:

[ Jayce doesn't seem to be in a rush, looking more curious than impatient at the bird's antics. Seeing a crow type will never not be funny, too. He stares at the words, then at the white raven, and then a wide smile spreads on his face. ]

[ He's going to reach out with more confidence now and gently pet the bird's back, from his head to the tip of his tail. ] See, I knew you'd look gorgeous like this. But you can't talk? Do you want me to activate the holo keyboard? Matthew uses it and he's also a bird.

At the offer Cloud opens his beak and croaks out a 'yes' sound, only it's as if a raven was mimicking human speech rather than his own voice, as Cloud. Annoying. He pecks the worktable in frustration and fluffs up his feathers, agitated.]
[ Cloud only needs to tell Jayce to stop, and he won't do it again. He's not trying to make his friend feel uncomfortable or embarrass him in any way. Jayce just sees a cute animal and feels like he must pet the cute animal. It is a problem.
He's quick to fiddle with the relic again to set everything up for Cloud after that weird sound. In no time, there's a holographic keyboard displayed on the table for him to tap. ]
There you go; no need to make a hole in my desk. Are you hungry? I'd usually offer you a drink or something but I don't know if that would be healthy for a raven.

When they get back over to the relic he'll jot down that idea, that Jayce can just go about his day and let Cloud just watch and exist near another person for a while.]

Sometimes I wish I had gotten a role like yours instead of Legend. It just seems more practical and versatile. But I guess that my emotions are too messed up to be a decent Familiar.
[ Jayce will be the first to admit that he is an emotional individual and that it can lead to problems at times. As for having a silent companion, Viktor isn't always the most talkative guy around, and they have worked together for over a decade. Jayce is fine with silence and comfortable company; he can talk for two if necessary, so he's fine and dandy with Cloud not talking. ]
Are you bonded with anyone? As a familiar? Just curious.
[It's probably hard to tell when he's a bird but Cloud still pauses in drinking water bird-style to give Jayce his most "what the fuck" look over that. He'd rather be some mangy pigeon or rat or dog or whatever than his Legend form? The wings were- for lack of a better word, pretty. Not to mention that part about "emotions are too messed up" to be a Familiar, hah, bro. Please. Take a Lifestream dip with Cloud just once and then re-evaluate. Cloud's emotions are about as stable as a landslide.
